Carter's Review

This attractive, mid-block, 13-story, mid-block apartment building at 520 East 76th Street was erected in 1964 and has 102 co-operative apartments.

It was designed by H. I. Feldman, whose other buildings in Manhattan include the Park Lane Tower on the northwest corner of Third Avenue and 85th Street, 1025 Fifth Avenue, and Parker Towne House at 3 Sheridan Square.

The building is known as John Jay House.

The block is  graced by two very handsome and modern schools, the Lycee Francais de New York and The Towne School, and the John Jay Park.

Bottom Line

A handsome, red-brick, mid-block, mid-rise building with a canopied entrance and sidewalk landscaping on a pleasant street with two schools and the John Jay Park.

Description

The red-brick building is distinguished by its sidewalk landscaping, a canopied entrance, step-down entrance, and thin window surrounds and thin discrete air-conditioners.

There are small setbacks at the top two floors with bay windows.

Amenities

The building is pet-friendly and has a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent and a bicycle room.
