This attractive, mid-block, 13-story, mid-block apartment building at 520 East 76th Street was erected in 1964 and has 102 co-operative apartments. 

It was designed by H. I. Feldman, whose other buildings in Manhattan include the Park Lane Tower on the northwest corner of Third Avenue and 85th Street, 1025 Fifth Avenue, and Parker Towne House at 3 Sheridan Square. 

The building is known as John Jay House.

The block is  graced by two very handsome and modern schools, the Lycee Francais de New York and The Towne School, and the John Jay Park.

Bottom Line

A handsome, red-brick, mid-block, mid-rise building with a canopied entrance and sidewalk landscaping on a pleasant street with two schools and the John Jay Park.

 

Description

The red-brick building is distinguished by its sidewalk landscaping, a canopied entrance, step-down entrance, and thin window surrounds and thin discrete air-conditioners. 

There are small setbacks at the top two floors with bay windows.

Amenities

The building is pet-friendly and has a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent and a bicycle room.

Apartments

Apartment 9C is a two-bedroom unit with a 32-foot-long living/dining room and an enclosed 11-foot-long kitchen by the entrance. 

Penthouse B is a one-bedroom unit with a small entry foyer that leads to a dining alcove next to a 9-foot-long, windowed kitchen and a 18-foot-long, slightly angled living room with an entrance to a large terrace that also wraps around a slightly angled bedroom. 

Penthouse D is a one-bedroom unit with a 24-foot-long living room with and angled bay window next to a 13-foot-long angled den with a corner bay window and an enclosed 11-foot-long kitchen windowed kitchen and a long terrace. 

Apartment 1H is a one-bedroom unit with a 29-foot-long living room and an enclosed 12-foot-long kitchen and a 32-foot-long patio and garden.
