The attractive glass rental apartment tower at 27-03 42 Road in Long Island City, Queens, was erected in 2012.

The 27-story tower, which is also known as 42-17 27^th Street, has 142 apartments and was built by Heatherwood Communities LLC, which is building a 58-story residential tower nearby that will be known as 28 on 28^th and will be only 12 feet shorter than the nearby Citibank office tower.

Karl Fischer was the architect.

Bottom Line

A handsome, blue-glass rental apartment tower addition to the Court Square neighborhood with a lot of amenities.

Description

The slick, blue-glass tower has a one-story black base and a corner setback above the 5^th floor and one end of the tower has a bay of balconies.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour concierge, a library, a gym, a yoga studio, a screening room, a play room, a bicycle room, a sun deck, and a garage. The building has a large lounge with a fireplace, a billiards table and two, tall, perforated white screens. The building permits pets.

Apartments

Apartments have high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, white-stained maple floors, washers and dryers, GE stainless-steel kitchen appliances, walnut and glass kitchen cabinetry and speckled and white quartz kitchen countertops.

Penthouse F is a duplex one-bedroom unit with a 24-foot-long living/dining room with an 8-foot-long, pass-through kitchen and a 203-square-foot, 9-sided terrace on the upper floor and an 18-foot-long bedroom with a 96-square-foot balcony on the lower floor.

Apartment B on the 4^th through the 6^th floor is a two-bedroom unit with a corner, 17-foot-long living/dining room with an 8-foot-long, pass-through kitchen.

Apartment G on the 7^th through the 23^rd floors is a one-bedroom unit with an 18-foot-long living/dining room with an 8-foot-wide, pass-through kitchen.
