In 2015, Yoseif Partners filed permits with the DOB to construct a seven-level mansion that will be among the largest single-family homes in Manhattan. Fast-forward five years later, the lavish abode is finishing construction recently revealing its stately Federal-style red-brick facade bordered by stone quoins. Situated on a tony Upper East Side block between Lexington and Third avenues, the home is one door down from a new Robert A.M. Stern-designed condo tower rising at 150 East 78th Street and across from the recently-finished condo 151 East 78th Street.

The five-story home spans a whopping 18,729 square feet across seven levels. The subcellar will host a swimming pool and a rendering shows the roof will have a basketball court. The local practice, Anderson Kenny Architecture are the home's designers, and employed a traditional, Neo-Federal-style vocabulary to harmonize with the elegant pre-war masonry townhomes block. Prior to construction, the site held a pair of rowhouses of contrasting styles and quality. The new structure echoes the design of the more opulent house that stood at 154. The mansion's facade is composed of a rusticated stone base, a grand central entryway, a red brick facade accented by quoins, and an opulent stone balustrade below a tapering slate-tiled roofline.
