During the darkest days of the coronavirus pandemic, some wondered if the end of New York City was in sight. However, the city showed incredible resilience and adaptability during this trying time. The Open Restaurants program allowed eateries to stay in business and transformed sidewalks, and the new Key to NYC program promotes vaccination. These were also key factors in New York's ranking in the top five of the Time Out Index of the world's best cities.

It is also one of the world's richest cities: According to the most recent Wealth-X report , New York City increased its ultra-high net worth (UNHW) residents by 9.3 percent in 2020, bringing the number up to 121,610 such cohorts. This reflects New York's continued status as a global center for finance and commerce, not to mention its rich blend of cultural opportunities, luxury lifestyle options, and high-quality education and real estate.

And in a move that should make UNHW residents feel more comfortable, Eric Adams, the probable next mayor of New York City, has vowed to make the city more welcoming to business and wealthy residents than his predecessor.
In this environment, the number of new real estate listings has substantially increased since Labor Day. A total of 725 new listings came on the market in the past seven days with a median condo price of $1.797 million (or $1,593 per square foot) and a median co-op price of $799,750 (all figures per CityRealty listings). From a historic Harlem townhouse conversion to a full-floor masterpiece in a Billionaires' Row supertall, we take a look at the greatest standouts below.
