Hotelier Richard Born of BD Hotels is taking the reins on the property at 515 West 42nd Street that has been in his family for more than three decades. The site between Tenth and Eleventh avenues is currently occupied by a seven-story Travel Inn hotel but will soon be replaced by a 39-story mixed-use rental tower. Born's recently filed plans call for a mixed-use 443-foot tall building which will house 350 residential units. The filings also show a leasing office will be on the first floor, indicative of rentals. The project is being designed by Handel Architects, and will join several large rental buildings along the far west side of 42nd Street. Born's other forthcoming project, the micro-unit Pod Times Square hotel, is located just one avenue away.

Additionally, residents will have access to an outdoor garden and some units will offer private terrace space.
