485 Park Avenue: Review and Ratings

between East 58th Street & East 59th Street View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 485 Park Avenue by Carter Horsley

This handsome, 14-story building was erected in 1922 and converted to a cooperative in 1945.It has a three-story limestone base and light-beige brick façades with an attractive, canopied entrance with bronze doors and sidewalk landscaping. The building, which replaced some garages, has only 23 apartments. It has a superb location that is very convenient to the midtown office and shopping districts and public transportation. It has inconsistent fenestration and some protruding air-conditioners, but its lobby is very elegant and the apartment layouts are fine.
