between Third Avenue & Second Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 225 East 57th Street by Carter Horsley
This 20-story, white-brick full-service building was built in 1964 and converted to a cooperative in 1988. Its attractive façade is modulated by slightly recessed bays.   To the east is the elegance of Sutton Place and easy access to the Queensborough Bridge. To the west is the glamour of 57th Street's boutiques, art galleries, and stores. To the south is a collection of some of New York's newest office and most interesting office buildings. To the north are Bloomingdale's and the Upper East Side. It is close to all major transportation.   This building has 261 apartments, a 24-hour doorman, concierge, a parking garage, roof deck, a stunning marble and glass lobby, garden, two laundry rooms, private storage, and central air-conditioning.    The building was designed by Pomerance & Breines.
