This very handsome, 52-story tower at 150 East 44th Street, was erected by Rose Associates Inc., and The Benenson Capital Company in 2001 and has 360 rental apartments.

It is very close to Grand Central Terminal and the Chrysler Building and not far from the United Nations.

It was designed by SLCE.

Bottom Line

One of midtown’s most attractive mid-block apartment towers, this 52-story tower offers may bay windows and is very close to Grand Central Terminal and its fine food hall, the United Nations, and public transportation.

Description

The central portion of its south façade has large bay windows that are part of two separate apartments.

The large and attractive lobby has a revolving door entrance with a marquee and a tapestry based on an Bauhaus design by Gunta Stolzl. 

 

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour attended lobby and concierge, on-site valet services and dry cleaning, maid services, video security, a sun deck, the Metropolis club with a fitness center, central air-conditioning, a golf simulator and a billiards parlor.  Dogs are not allowed. 

Apartments

Apartments have walk-in closets, eat-in kitchens, Maytag appliances, granite kitchen countertops, and wooden kitchen cabinetry.

Apartment G on floors 12 through 38 is a one-bedroom unit on the Lexington Avenue side of the building with a 7-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 21-foot-longf living/dining room next to an enclosed kitchen.

Apartment E on floors 7 through 36 is a one-bedroom unit with a 9-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a 21-foot-long living/dining room with a curved bay window, and enclosed kitchen and a 14-foot-long bedroom with a curved window.

Apartment D is a one-bedroom unit on floors 37 through the penthouse with a 8-foot-long entry foyer next to a pass-through kitchen, a 17-foot-long living room and a 12-foot-long bedroom with a curved window.

Apartment C is a one-bedroom unit on the 37th through the penthouse on the Third Avenue side of the building with a 12-foot-long entry foyer that leads to a pass-through kitchen and a 19-foot-long corner living/dining room.

Apartment F is a studio unit on floors 28 through the penthouse that has a 9-foot-long entry foyer next to a pass-through kitchen, and a 15-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-wide sleeping alcove.
