Carter Horsley
Review of 409 West 45th Street by Carter Horsley
This very attractive, 7-story, mid-block apartment building at 409 West 45th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues was erected in 2015 by Zacharias Equities and designed by Tony Onyeagoro of Building Consulting Engineering. It has 7 full-floor condominium apartments. It is on a quiet, tree-lined street. Pembrooke & Ives was the interior designer.

Bottom Line

With its high fenestration pattern of randomly aligned, clear and tinted windows, this mid-rise, mid-block brings a breath of bright and fresh air to a fire-escape-strewn Hell’s Kitchen streetscape.

Description

This mid-block building has a mostly clear and tinted glass façade with Juliet balconies and a glass-railed roof deck, a welcome modern intrusion into the fire-escape territory of Hell’s Kitchen.

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, virtual doorman and private key-locked elevator.

Apartments

Apartments have 8-inch-wide white oak floors, triple-glazed, floor-to-ceiling windows with Juliet balconies, Flor di Bosco kitchen countertops, lacquered kitchen cabinetry and Bosch and Miele appliances.

Bathrooms are sheathed in Thassos marble and solid oak vanities.
