350 East 30th Street: Review and Ratings

at The Southwest corner of First Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 350 East 30th Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, red-brick, 6-story building was erected in 1957 and has 128 condominium apartments.

It is on one of the city's more architecturally interesting streets as the south side has many extremely handsome brownstone buildings and the north side is the lushly landscaped plaza of Kips Bay Towers, one of I. M. Pei's best residential designs. Many hospitals are located on the other side of First Avenue in this area.

The building has sidewalk landscaping, a doorman, basement storage, and a three-step-up vestibule with a white-brick entrance surround and a stainless steel canopy. The building has some fire-escapes and permits protruding air-conditioners.
