between Park Avenue & Lexington Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 123 East 37th Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, 15-story apartment building at 123 East 37th Street on the northwest corner at Lexington Avenue was erected in 1938. It was converted to a cooperative in 1983.

It has 94 apartments.

The building, which is also known as Lindley House and 296-300 Lexington Avenue, has a canopied entrance, a doorman, protruding air-conditioners, an exposed rooftop watertank and bandcourses at the third, 13th and 15th floors.

The red-brick building, which has had some repairs to its Lexington Avenue façade, has a prime location in Murray Hill. It has consistent fenestration and no sidewalk landscaping.

It is convenient to the Morgan Library and there is public transportation nearby at 34th Street and Grand Central Terminal is several blocks to the north at 42nd Street.
