114 East 72nd Street: Review and Ratings
between Park Avenue & Lexington Avenue View Full Building Profile
This 15-story, gray-brick building was erected in 1963 and converted to a cooperative in 1972. It has 50 apartments.
The building has a one-story, polished red granite base, gray spandrels, and a canopied entrance with sidewalk landscaping in a shallow plaza. It also has many bay windows, consistent fenestration, discrete air-conditioners, some terraces and a doorman, but no balconies and no garage.
The building has a fine, central Upper East Side location that is convenient to some cultural institutions and many world-famous boutiques along Madison Avenue as well as many restaurants and neighborhood shopping along Lexington and Third Avenues. Although the nearest subway station is several blocks away, there is good bus service on this major cross-town street.
