Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Dec 23, 2011
68 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This attractive, red-brick, apartment building was erected in 1928 and converted to a cooperative in 1988.

The 12-story building, which is just to the east of Temple Israel, has 54 apartments.

The building has a two-story, rusticated limestone base with a canopied entrance and a doorman and an attractive lobby. It has no sidewalk landscaping and no health club. It permits protruding air-conditioners.

It has high ceilings, some fireplaces, some foyers, and some windowed kitchens.

This is one of the more desirable areas of the Upper East Side as it is convenient to boutiques and restaurants on Lexington, Third and Madison Avenues.

Lenox Hill Hospital is two blocks to the north as is a subway station on Lexington Avenue. There is good cross-town bus service on 72nd Street.
