Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

62 CITYREALTY RATING

Carter's Review

This elegant, red-brick, mid-block apartment building was erected in 1929 and converted to a cooperative in 1953.

The 10-story building has 30 units including a duplex penthouse and an exposed rooftop watertank.

The building, which has a three-story limestone base, has a canopied entrance and a doorman and fireplaces. It has consistent, multi-paned windows and permits protruding air-conditioners.

This is a very quiet and handsome street in the heart of the Upper East Side. It is convenient to boutiques and restaurants on Lexington as well as on Madison Avenue. Lenox Hill Hospital is three blocks to the north as is a subway station on Lexington Avenue.

There is good cross-town bus service on 72nd Street.
