This very elegant, red-brick, Georgian-style apartment house at 100 Riverside Drive on the northeast corner at 82nd Street was erected in 1938.  It was converted to a cooperative in 1990. The 19-story building has 93 apartments.

It was built by Simon Brothers who subsequently sold it to Paul Kallaman, who sold it in 1963 to Klausner Associates Inc.

It was designed by Boak & Paris and is also known as327-333 West 82nd Street.

Bottom Line

A very handsome, modern “pre-war” building with sunken living rooms and it is close to Zabar’s.


 

Description

The building is distinguished by its fine massing and masonry. It has a one-story limestone base with a canopied entrance on the side-street beneath an octagonal limestone surround on he second story.  It has a very attractive lobby.

The building has many corner windows and a doorman and it permits protruding air-conditioners. Its top has several terraces surmounted by a handsome enclosed rooftop watertank.

Most of the apartments have stunning vistas of the Hudson River and Riverside Park.

The building has a doorman, a gym, a laundry, basement storage, a bicycle room and is pet-friendly and is close to Zabar’s.

Apartment 3A is a two-bedroom unit with a entry foyer leading to a large gallery that opens onto a 23-foot-long sunken living room and a 21-foot-long dining room that leads to a 14-foot-long kitchen and a 12-foot-long maid’s room.  The apartment also has a 1footong den next to a 23- foot-long eat-in kitchen and a sunken 23-foot-long media room.

Apartment 6D is a three-bedroom unit with an entry foyer that leads to a 23-foot-long living room with a corner window and a pass-through kitchen.

Apartment 14A is a two-bedroom unit with a 17-foot-long entry foyer with two angled walls that leads to a 24-foot-long living room and a 21-foot-long dining room next to a breakfast area next to a 13-foot-long kitchen and a 12-foot-long office.

Apartment 5C is a two-bedroom unit with a 20-foot-long dining foyer that leads to an angled and windowed 22-foot-long kitchen and a sunken 25-foot-long living room.

Apartment 19D is a one-bedroom unit with a 28-foot-long living room with an angled window that is next to a 14-foot-long kitchen and leads to a 27-foot-long south-facing terrace.
