This very handsome mid-rise, mid-block apartment building at 224 Riverside Drive between 94^th and 95^th Streets was built in 1910 and has 29 apartments.

The 7-story building was converted to a co-operative in 1985.

This very attractive, mid-rise, pre-war apartment building is close to the 96^th Street express station of the IRT subway on Broadway.

Description

The building has a two-story, rusticated limestone base with broad pilasters flanking the two-step-up entrance.

It also has a bandcourse beneath the top floor and a large cornice supported by large brackets

The beige-brick façade has attractive window surrounds and there are some producing air-conditioners.

The building has consistent fenestration and a decorative balcony above its entrance, which has very handsome casts-iron and glass doors.

The building’s entrance is flanked by tall fences that lead down to basement apartments.
