It was originally known as Avalon Hall and then as The Hudson and is not far from the 96th Street IRT express subway station at Broadway and an entrance to the West Side Highway.
It is the northernmost building on Riverside Drive in the Riverside Drive – West End Historic District.
It was designed by John Woolley for Bingham Brothers.
