33 West End Avenue is a 25-story apartment building with 211 market-rate apartments and 120 affordable units reserved for seniors who earn no more than 60 percent of the area's median income.

It was erected in 2007 and developed by Atlantic Development Group LLC and designed by Costas Kondylis and Partners LLP. Atlantic's other projects include 2 Cooper Square and 303 Tenth Avenue.

It has a concierge and doorman and a residents' lounge and a fitness center. There are washers and dryers in all the 2-bedroom units.

Kitchens have Giallo Veneziano marble countertops and bathrooms have Botticino semi-Classico marble vanities.

The senior citizen housing is entered at 33 West End Avenue at 61st Street and is a 13-story facility managed by the Metropolitan New York Coordinating Council on Jewish Poverty. it contains about 8,400 square feet of retail space.

The market-rate housing is located in the 25-story building at Freedom Place South and 61s Street.

The base of the building, which is also known as 315 East 61st Street, is two stories of white stone and the long base on 61st Street is modulated by two thin recessed piers of windows. The recessed tower faces the Hudson River and the development is a few blocks to the west of Columbus Circle and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
