North Bennington Corner, 817 West End Avenue: Review and Ratings

at The Southwest corner of West 100th Street View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 817 West End Avenue by Carter Horsley

This very handsome apartment building is the twin of the adjacent South Bennington Commons apartment building at 801 West End Avenue on the northwest corner at 99th Street.

It masonary façade is a bit darker and because of the avenue's slope its floors do not align perfectly with its "twin."

It is one of four buildings designed on the Upper West Side by Neville & Bagge with extraordinary rooflines.  The other are its twin, The Cornwall at 255 West 90th Street and The Manchester at 255 West 108th Street.  The Manchester, unfortunately, had its great roofline removed!
