The pleasant, seven-story, mid-block, red-brick building at 60 Beach Street in TriBeCa was erected in 1930 and converted to 25 residential condominiums in 2007 by Property Markets Group.

H. Thomas O’Hara was the architect for the conversion.

Bottom Line

An attractive, red-brick on a cobblestone street with some unusual and large layouts with high ceilings near the St. Johns Park and Holland Tunnel and the Hudson River Park.

Description

This attractive building has many arched windows in the middle of its Beach Street façade and two sets of fire-escapes.

 The ground floor has a sidewalk platform with several maisonette apartments with large, arched entrances.

Amenities

The building has a roof deck, a full-time doorman, a gym, package room, bicycle room, storage, a pet spa and a children’s playroom.

The building also has a laundry room on each floor.

Apartments

Apartments have high ceilings private key access to the elevators.

Apartments have Valcucine kitchens and Calacatta gold marble and Waterworks fixtures in the bathrooms.

The units have black walnut wide-plank flooring and wine coolers.

Apartment 2A is a two-bedroom unit that has a 32-foot-long living/dining area with an open kitchen with an island.

Apartment 3B has a 35-foot-long living/dining area with a open kitchen with an island and three bedrooms.

Apartment 4D is a two-bedroom unit that has a 72-foot-long living/dining room with a 17-foot-long open kitchen.

Apartment 1C is a duplex maisonette unit with an entry foyer and three-bedrooms on the upper level and four large “flexible” living areas, one with a double-height ceiling, and a garden on the “main” level.

Apartment MD is a triplex with three-bedrooms, a double-height, 30-foot-long great room which steps up to a 17-foot-long kitchen next to a 15-foot-wide dining area overlooking a 36-foot-wide patio.  The lower level also has a 19-foot-long entry foyer and a 20-foot-long den that steps up to the dining area.  A basement level has a 27-foot-long office/recreation room, and two other small rooms.

Penthouse 2 is a duplex with a 24-foot-wide entry foyer, a 30-foot-long living/dining area with an open kitchen with an island, a bedroom and two terraces on the upper level and a family room and two bedrooms on the 6th floor.

Penthouse 3 is a duplex unit with three bedrooms, a den, a large living/dining room with an open kitchen, a gas fireplace, and a southwest facing, 750-square-foot terrace.

Penthouse  4 has a 31-foot-long living/dining area with an open kitchen and a 26-foot-long terrace on the upper level and three bedrooms and a 19-foot-long family room on the sixth floor.

 

Location

The building is between Hudson and Greenwich streets at the foot of Collister Street.  It is close to many well-known restaurants.
