This handsome, former fruit warehouse in TriBeCa at 61 North Moore Street between Hudson and Greenwich streets was built in 1897 and converted by Tribeach Holdings LLC to 10 condominium apartments in 2001.

William Fegan was the architect for the conversion.

Tribeach acquired the 6-story building in 2000 from a private family when it was used by the Starbolin Electric Company.  According to an April 22, 2001 article in The New York Times “the purchase price was $6.7 million, and construction costs were about $6 million.

Bottom Line

A very handsome, red-brick, 6-story former warehouse in TriBeCa converted in 2001 with a very broad shed canopy and a deep cornice.

The burnt orange-brick building has five window bays with pairs of windows, a very broad shed canopy and a deep cornice.

The building has fireplaces, central air-conditioning, storage and in unit washers and dryers.

Apartment 1E is a 2-bedroom duplex with an entry foyer that opens onto a 18-foot-wide den that opens onto a 24-foot-wide, double-height living room with a gas fireplace, large wood beams and casts-iron columns and a staircase to the upper level with the bedrooms and a 21-foot-wide dining room with an open kitchen with an island.  The unit has a handsome patio.

Apartment 5E is a 2-bedroom unit with a big vestibule off the elevator that leads to a long foyer that leads past an open kitchen with an island to a 25-foot-wide living/dining area with a fireplace.  The master bedroom has a 13-foot-wide balcony.

Apartment 2W is a 2-bedroom unit with a large entry foyer that leads past an open kitchen to a 28-foot-wide living room.
