Executive House, 225 East 46th Street: Review and Ratings

between Third Avenue & Second Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 225 East 46th Street by Carter Horsley

This white-brick, midblock apartment building is very convenient to the Grand Central office district and also is not far from the United Nations. The 13-story structure was erected in 1955 and converted to a condominium in 1987. It has 129 apartments. The top of the building has several terraces that protrude slightly from the façade, which has a horizontal fenestration pattern with large windows. The doorman building has an attractive, canopied entrance. Just a couple of blocks south of the very attractive townhouse enclave at Turtle Bay, the building is also close to many of the city's most famous landmarks such as the Chrysler Building and Grand Central Terminal.
