Carter's Review
Dark and handsome, this 5-story building at 142 North 1st Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn was completed in 2014 and has 8 condominium apartments.
It was designed by Barry Berg.
It is about a five-minute walk away from a L subway station.
Bottom Line
A strong, dark, modern, rectilinear statement on the front and a Williamsburgian flurry of zig-zag windows on the rear.
Description
With an indented ground floor, a recessed top floor and three middle floors with two very wide, recessed, window bays, this building has a very strong, modern, dark presence on the street.
Its rear façade, however, is completely different: an accordion-like assemblage of narrow angled windows.
Amenities
The building has a keyed elevator.
