This handsome, 21-story, white-brick apartment building at 10 East End Avenue on the southwest corner at 80th Street was erected in 1957 and converted to a co-operative in 1984.  It has 198 apartments. 

It was developed by Stanley R. Broff who lived in the building when he died in 1963 at the age of 46. 

The building is close to the Brearley and Chapin schools and Carl Schurz Park to the north and an entrance to the East River Drive one block to the south.

Bottom Line

An attractive, white-brick apartment building with good amenities, many corner windows, an entrance marquee, good layouts and a quiet location on East End Avenue.

Description

The building has a center recessed bay with an entrance marquee and a canopy with sidewalk landscaping and two setbacks on the top five floors on the avenue and the two façade indentations and some landscaping on the sidestreet. 

The building has polished gray granite facing on its first floor that expanded to two stories around the entrance. 

It has many corner windows and discrete air-conditioners.

Amenities

The building has a full-time doorman, a live-in superintendent, a roof deck, a garage, a bicycle room and storage.  It is pet-friendly.

Apartments

Apartment 21D is a two-bedroom, duplex penthouse with a 24-foot-long, 9-sided living room with a staircase, an open, 16-foot-long, open kitchen with an island and a 7-foot-long pantry and a 21-foot-long terrace, a 16-foot-long office with a corner window and a 15-foot-long bedroom with two corner windows on the lower level.  The upper level has the master bedroom and a 24-foot-wide green room that is glass-enclosed on six sides. 

Apartment 14C is a three-bedroom unit with an entry gallery that leads to a 25-foot-long living room with a corner window that is next to an enclosed 13-footlong kitchen that leads to an 11-foot-long dining room with a bay window and access to a 20-foot-long terrace and a connected 11-foot-long terrace. 

Apartment 17D is a two-bedroom unit with a 16-foot-long entrance gallery that opens onto a 22-foot-long living room with a balcony and an enclosed and windowed 13-foot-long kitchen.  One of the bedrooms also has a balcony. 

Apartment 4J is a two-bedroom unit with a 10-foot-wide entry foyer that leads to an 11-foot-wide gallery that opens onto a 20-foot-long living room that is open to a 12-footlong dining room next to an open 12-foot-wide kitchen. 

Apartment 10F is a two-bedroom unit with a 9-foot-wide entry foyer that leads to a 22-foot-long living room with a corner window and a 10-foot-long dining alcove next to an enclosed and windowed, 9-foot-long kitchen. 

Apartment 15C is a two-bedroom unit with a 23-foot-long living room that opens onto an 11-foot-long dining room next to an 11-foot-long kitchen with a breakfast bar. 

Apartment 3D is a one-bedroom unit with a long entry foyer that leads to a 10-foot-wide dining room next to an enclosed and windowed kitchen and a 21-foot-living room. 

Apartment 5N is a one-bedroom unit with a 23-foot-long living/dining room with a corner window that is next to an 8-foot-long enclosed kitchen.  The bedroom has a large corner window.
