The Park Royal, 23 West 73rd Street: Review and Ratings

between Columbus Avenue & Central Park West View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 23 West 73rd Street by Carter Horsley

With its large and very broad entrance marquee, this 16-story building is one of the most attractive sidestreet apartment houses on the Upper West Side. The redbrick building has a two-story limestone base with arched windows on the second floor and its mass is modulated by small recesses on either side of the central section.Across the street from the north side of the famed Dakota, this building is only a few steps from Central Park. Its sidestreet is much quieter than busy 72nd Street. The 250-unit building was erected in 1932 and converted to a cooperative in 1985.
