Overview

   About 80 Park Avenue

One of the most attractive postwar buildings on Park Avenue, this 20-story apartment house was erected in 1956 and has a very nicely modulated facade because the building is set back slightly from two bays that divide its avenue frontage into five parts.

The well-proportioned, doorman building, which was converted to a condomium in 1981, has angled windows at its north corner. It has 228 apartments and several terraces. The building has a garage, elevator persons, and a roof deck with great views of the Empire State Building. Electricity is included in the maintenance charges.

In the heart of the Murray Hill District, the handsome redbrick structure, which was designed by Kahn & Jacobs with Paul Resnik, is just a short walk from Grand Central Terminal, the New York Public Library and the Morgan Library. This section of Park Avenue is relatively quiet because most traffic takes the tunnel beneath the avenue from 33rd to 40th Streets.

Excellent shopping and several churches and clubs are nearby in this walk-to-work community.
