Addison Hall - 457 West 57th Street: CARTER'S REVIEW

Addison Hall is a 16-story, pre-war apartment building at 457 West 57th Street that is distinguished by an attractive two story masonry base.

The red-brick building has a canopied entrance with sidewalk landscaping and a 24-hour doorman, a concierge, a live-in superintendent, and storage facilities. It permits protruding air-conditioners and its apartments have beamed ceilings and windowed bathrooms.

The building was erected in 1930 and was designed by Joseph A. Moller Inc.

It is located between Ninth and Tenth Avenues and is a block away from Roosevelt Hospital and John Jay College in a neighborhood that witnessed an enormous boom in construction of new residential towers to the west and north.

It is block away from the Whole Foods Store at the Time Warner Center overlooking Central Park and there is good public transportation.

The building is pet-friendly.

It has about 240 cooperative apartments.

According to a March 18, 2007 article by Christine Haughney in The New York Times a 300-square-foot studio apartment in the building sold for $265,000.
