Jim Carrey condo shops; Anderson Cooper’s firehouse gets even prettier

Jim Carrey is looking for a New York City home with $5 to $8 million to spend; The Cable Guy was recently spotted sizing up a 2,663 square-foot penthouse duplex with a 981 square-foot rooftop terrace—on the market for $5.95 million—at the Zinc condo at 475 Greenwich Street. Carrey was recently renting at the Richard Meier-designed 176 Perry Street condo (NY Post).

Yet another look at the work-in-progress that is Anderson Cooper’s by-now-famous 84 West Third Street firehouse loft reveals buffed-up natural brick and a handsome terra cotta bust greeting visitors over the doorway of the historic building, though as of yet there are no new pictures of the 8,997 square foot, 4-floor interior with its original spiral staircases and brass fire poles (CurbedNY).

Executive Suites: Lovers of quilted paisley Vera Bradley bags may want to know that company co-founder Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and her husband just moved in to a 2,909 square-foot apartment at 15 Central Park West, for which they paid $17 million. The apartment with park views at the covetable address was purchased in 2008 by a real estate investor and his wife for $6.8 million, which, from their perspective, makes the deal a pretty good investment (New York Observer).
