Review of 150 West 87th Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, 9-story, beige-brick, apartment building was erected in 1912. It is a cooperative and has 40 apartments.

The building has a two-story limestone base that is painted gray, a canopied entrance and consistent fenestration. It has protruding air-conditioners but no sidewalk landscaping, no health club, no balconies, no doorman and no garage.

The building is nearly identical to the 9-story building with 38 apartments at 160 West 87th Street.

This building has a central Upper West Side location that is close to numerous stores and restaurants. It is not far from a subway station on Broadway at 86th Street, which has excellent cross-town bus service.

The neighborhood is one of the city's finest architecturally with many superb pre-World War II apartment buildings and some well-designed late 20th Century apartment houses as well.
