The Verdi, 175 West 73rd Street: Review and Ratings

between Columbus Avenue & Amsterdam Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 175 West 73rd Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, 16-story apartment building at the corner of Amsterdam Avenue was erected in 1923 and has 146 cooperative apartments.

The red-brick building is known as the Verdi and has a three-story limestone base, a canopied entrance, a full-time doorman, consistent fenestration, protruding air-conditioners, sidewalk landscaping and a roof deck. It has some fire escapes, no health club, and no garage.

This is a central Upper West Side location on a pleasant street that is convenient to the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts a few blocks to the south and there is an express subway station at 72nd Street and Broadway.

There is excellent local shopping on Broadway.
