75 Poplar Street is a historic NYC Landmark school-turned-condominium built in 1910. The pet-friendly building offers amenities and is conveniently located near parks, transportation, and attractions.
75 Poplar Street is a former school built in 1910 and converted to a condominium in 1987. The landmarked, five story building contains 57 residences and retains an orange brick façade, mansard roof, six step stoop, and brownstone entrance surround.
The school conversion produced varied, often unconventional floor plans. Duplexes recur, along with private street entrances and separate entrances on different levels. Many apartments have high or cathedral ceilings, oversized windows, central air, and in-unit laundry, while upper level residences may incorporate skylights, wood burning fireplaces, private roof decks, and views of the Brooklyn Bridge, East River, and Manhattan skyline.
The landscaped common garden has native plantings, winding paths, and a barbecue area, and has been designated a Certified Wildlife Habitat. The building also has a live-in superintendent, resident storage, an intercom system, and a gated parking lot with spaces deeded to certain residences. Pets are permitted.
The building is mid-block on Poplar Street between Hicks and Henry Streets, a tree lined Brooklyn Heights block marked by gas lamps. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Brooklyn Bridge Park are close by, as are the waterfront, restaurants, and converted industrial streets of DUMBO.
