131 East 81st Street: Review and Ratings

between Park Avenue & Lexington Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 131 East 81st Street by Carter Horsley

This pleasant, 18-story, apartment building was erected in 1982 and is a cooperative with only 16 apartments.

This red-brick building has a good Upper East Side location not far from Lenox Hill Hospital. It has sidewalk landscaping, discrete air-conditioners, some terraces, consistent fenestration and some fine views from its top floors. It has no doorman, no garage, no health club and no balconies.

There is good local shopping and good cross-town bus service on 79th Street. The nearest subway station is at 77th Street and Lexington Avenue. There are many nearby restaurants and the neighborhood is convenient to many schools and cultural and religious institutions.
