Review of 1930 Broadway by Carter Horsley

This handsome, 30-story rental apartment building has a very prime location on Broadway across from the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Developed by Glenwood Management, one of the city's largest builders of luxury apartment towers, it is called the Grand Tier and its spacious and tall lobby sports travertine marble walls and a large tapestry.

Designed by Costas Kondylis, it has 232 rental apartments and its tower is setback on a low-rise base that maintains the streetwall. Its clean, simple lines and light color make it standout from its nearby residential towers that are darker and have more complex massing.

The building was completed in 2005. It has a 24-hour doorman, a concierge, an attended service entrance with package room and delivery escort, a separate service elevator, an air-conditioned laundry facility, a fitness center with a 50-foot pool of limestone and mosaic inlay, a residents' lounge with kitchen, a landscaped terrace and a children's playground.

The tower also has an attended garage, and valet and maid services. It is very convenient to public transportation and to many restaurants and boutiques and it is not far from Central Park.
