Review of 69 East 125th Street by Carter Horsley

This sprightly, 12-story apartment building at 69 East 125th Street was completed in 2017 by Greystone Development, which is headed by Jeffrey Simpson, and designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects. It is known as Harlem 125 and has 75 rental apartments of which 20 percent will be affordable.  Lauren Jayne Design did the interiors.

The building’s exterior distinguished by syncopated fenestration, setbacks and four different façade treatments including grey bricks and wood panels.

It extends through to 126th Street where it is only 7 stories tall.

During construction, the building has a three-part, 76-foot-long street mural by Lance Johnson that will be incorporated inside the building when it is finished.

It will have 5,600 square feet of retail space that will include an information center for the Second Avenue Subway.

It is located one block from Marcus Garvey Park and is not far from the Metro North train station at Park Avenue and 125th Street.
