Harlem 125 is a 12 story East Harlem rental completed in 2017 at 69 East 125th Street. Developed by Greystone Development and designed by Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, the 75 apartment building extends through the block to 126th Street, where its height steps down to seven stories. Its exterior combines gray brick, wood panels, setbacks, and irregularly spaced windows.
Twenty percent of the apartments were designated as affordable housing. Interiors by Lauren Jayne Design use open layouts, oak flooring, stone counters, stainless steel appliances, and in-unit washers and dryers. Private balconies and terraces recur in the building, while the layout range extends from studios with broad terraces to a three bedroom duplex with outdoor space on two levels.
A landscaped courtyard and furnished roof terrace provide shared outdoor space, joined by a fitness center with an outdoor area. The building also has a virtual doorman, laundry room, bicycle room, resident storage, a 15 car garage, and part time security. A 76 foot mural by artist Lance Johnson, commissioned during construction, forms part of the development's visual program.
Marcus Garvey Park is one block south, and Metro North's Harlem 125th Street station is at Park Avenue. The 4, 5, and 6 trains stop at the 125th Street station on Lexington Avenue, while the 2 and 3 serve the 125th Street station at Lenox Avenue. The Apollo Theater, Sylvia's, and Red Rooster are farther west along the 125th Street corridor.
