425 East 9th Street is a prewar cooperative completed in 1900 and converted in 1985. Its most distinctive residence is a duplex that connects the lower level to a three tier private garden, with living and sleeping areas arranged above.
The four story, four unit building is a walk up on a tree lined block between First Avenue and Avenue A, roughly one half block from Tompkins Square Park. It has an intercom, a shared garden, bike storage, and a basement central laundry room with washers and dryers.
