Manage buildingThis 25-story building, designed in 1929 and formerly a law firm headquarters, was converted into rental apartments in 2005. The building features a 100-foot-high skylight atrium, fitness center, sundeck, and is close to public transportation and South Street Seaport.
Designed by Clinton & Russell in 1929, this 25 story tower originally served as headquarters for the law firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft. Developer Frank Lalazarian acquired the building for $57 million in 2005 and converted it into approximately 336 rental apartments, with architect Avinash K. Malhotra overseeing the residential transformation. The conversion was financed with roughly $98 million in Liberty Bonds.
The building's most distinctive architectural feature is its 100 foot high skylight atrium, which creates a dramatic entrance for residents. Apartments typically feature 9 to 12 foot ceilings, and many units include pass through kitchens, stainless steel appliances, and marble baths. Some apartments offer terraces or dedicated home office spaces, and studios can accommodate pressurized walls with landlord approval, allowing for flexible layouts including two bedroom configurations.
Amenities include a state of the art fitness center, a 2,500 square foot sundeck, a duplex lounge with a pool table, 24 hour concierge service, valet service, and an on site attended garage. The building is pet friendly and located in the Financial District near South Street Seaport, with convenient access to numerous subway lines.
