The Renaissance at 100 John Street is a 34 story Financial District rental converted from a 1931 Art Deco office tower. Originally designed by Springsteen & Goldhammer, the building was converted by Joseph Moinian in 1998, with Avinash Malholtra designing a separate residential entrance in a pale blue glass wing while retaining the recessed original entrance.
The 221 apartments occupy the floors above the 13th story. The tower’s seven setbacks create nearly 100 terraces, and many upper floor apartments pair high ceilings with broad city views. About 45 studios were configured with home offices, reflecting the adaptation of the original office floor plates.
The building has a 24 hour doorman and concierge, a roof deck, and a residents lounge with billiards and a wet bar. A health club, garage, valet services, and laundry rooms on multiple floors complete the amenity program.
The Fulton Street subway complex is a few blocks away and serves the A, C, 2, 3, 4, 5, J, and Z trains. Former Good Morning America anchor Amy Robach has been associated with The Renaissance.
