6 West 20th Street
Co-op located in Flatiron/Union Square
Description of 6 West 20th Street
Designed by Schwartz & Gross and constructed in 1907, 6-8 West 20th Street is a mixed-use 14-unit loft building originally converted to co-ops in 1978. The building is just completing a total replacement and upgrade of its infrastructure: new 150-amp, three-phase, 220-volt electric service to each unit, new gas riser, new water riser, new gas-fired domestic hot water systems, new plumbing waste and vent stacks, new duct work to the outside for kitchen, bathroom and dryer vents.
New elevators and motors are being installed. An all new infrastructure/ecosystem inside a landmark 100+ year old structure. It's a huge amount of intricate work, all paid for through past assessments.
Neighborhood attractions include Madison Square Park, Union Square, Eataly, Union Square Farmers' Market, Gramercy Tavern and some of the finest dining, shopping and entertainment in Manhattan. Just a short distance from major transportation lines at Union Square.
