This 21-story, white-brick building contains 326 cooperative apartments and was erected in 1964 at 205 Third Avenue between 18th and 19th streets near Gramercy Park. 

It is known as Gramercy Park Towers. 

It was developed by Birchwood and designed by Samuel Paul and Seymour Jarmul.

It was converted to a cooperative in 1981. 

Bottom Line

Gramercy Park Towers is a full-service apartment building with a dramatic entrance and very handsome sidewalk landscaping close to Gramercy Park.

Description

The building has a very large entrance marquee that curves upward and extends almost to the curb. 

It also has very attractive dark, angled planters for its lush sidewalk landscaping. 

The building occupies the east blockfront on the avenue between 18th and 19th Streets and its north and south wings have brown spandrels, while the center of the building is set back a bit and has a slightly protruding balcony section. 

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a concierge, a live-in superintendent, a bicycle room, cold storage, a fitness center, a landscaped roof deck and courtyard and a garage.

Apartments

Apartments range in size from studios to two-bedrooms. 

Many apartments have balconies. 

Apartment 9P has an 8-foot-wide foyer that leads to a 20-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-long sleeping alcove and an open kitchen. 

Apartment 12T is a one-bedroom unit with a 6-foot-long foyer leading to a 22-foot-long living room with a 9-foot-long dining area next to an 8-foot-long kitchen. 

Apartment 6K has a 24-foot-long living/dining room with a 9-foot-long dining area next to a 9-foot-long enclosed kitchen, a 20-foot-long balcony and a 24-foot-long bedroom. 

Apartment 19H is a two-bedroom unit that has a 17-foot-wide entrance gallery that leads to a 13-foot-long living room with a 12-foot-long dining room space and an open kitchen with an island. 

Apartment 5H is a two-bedroom unit with a 19-foot-long entry gallery that opens onto a 24-foot-long living room with a 10-foot-long dining alcove next to an enclosed 8-foot-long kitchen and a 23-foot-long terrace.
