The 19 residence building retains the scale and character of its late nineteenth century row house construction, with an intercom system and a location between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas, close to Washington Square Park, Union Square, Jefferson Market Garden, restaurants, and shops.
Apartments range from studios and atelier lofts to larger residences with mezzanines, private terraces, roof decks, and roof rights. High ceilings, exposed brick, hardwood or oak floors, wood burning fireplaces, skylights, and oversized windows recur across the homes, along with leafy views over West 9th Street, townhouse gardens, and rooftops. One contemplated upper level combination would create a full floor penthouse with a private roof deck.
Several residences have been reimagined by architect Erich Schoenenberger of SU11, whose work has been displayed at MoMA, Art Basel, and the Carnegie Museum of Art. Renovated apartments pair the historic proportions and fireplaces with open kitchens, high end appliances, substantial storage, in-unit laundry, radiant heated bathroom floors, and zoned heating and cooling; private outdoor spaces include planted terraces and decks.
