Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley

Carter's Review

This attractive, 20-story, white-brick apartment building was erected in 1962 and is a cooperative with 66 units.

The building has a 1-story, polished black granite base with large white marble panels, nice sidewalk landscaping, a canopied entrance, some terraces, discrete air-conditioners and a doorman.

It is across the street from the large and handsome, full-block Imperial House and just south on the avenue of the elegant apartment tower at 188 East 70th Street. It is also just to the east of several handsome former carriage houses.

This is very central and attractive Upper East Side location that has excellent shopping and numerous restaurants.

There is considerable traffic on the avenues in this neighborhood, but the sidestreets are quiet. There is cross-town bus service on 67th Street and there is a subway station nearby at Lexington Avenue and 67th Street.

The building has no garage, no balconies, no health club, and no roof deck.
