Carter's Review

This very handsome, 19-story apartment building, which is known as Isis, was completed in 2010 by Alchemy Properties at 303 East 77th Street on the northeast corner at Second Avenue.

The building, which is named after the ancient Egyptian goddess who was a patroness of nature and magic, is clad in greenish gray Trespa panels and has a stone one-story base.

It was designed by Fx Fowle Architects.

It has 32 apartments.

Alchemy s other projects include the 47-unit Oculus Condo at 50 West 15th Street, the 52-unit Indigo Condo at 125 West 21st Street, the Paradigm at 146-8 West 22nd Street, 120 Gramercy Hill at 120 East 29th Street, Bond Street Lofts at 57 Bond Street, the Bullmoose at 42-48 East 20th Street and the Lion's Head Condo at 121 West 19th Street.

Bottom Line

With its muted and dark palette and slight cantilevers, this is one of the most attractive post-war apartment towers on the Upper East Side. It has a stunning lobby with a long wood concierge counter floating above an angled stone base.

Description

Kenneth Horn, the president of Alchemy, told Cityrealty.com that the air rights of two adjacent properties, one on the north side and one on the east side, were purchased and as a result the tower has two cantilevered sections.

The top three-floors have setbacks that give the building a quite distinctive top.

The building, which has a sidestreet entrance, also has many corner windows.

Amenities

The building has a 24-hour doorman, a video intercom security system, a roof deck and retail on the ground floor.
