between Second Avenue & First Avenue View Full Building Profile

Review of 315 East 72nd Street by Carter Horsley

This attractive, red-brick, 22-story building was erected in 1957 and converted to a cooperative in 1985. It has 219 apartments.

The building, which has a few balconies and terraces, has a two-story, rusticated limestone base around the entrance that has sliding glass and wood doors leading to the handsome, step-down lobby. The building has a concierge, consistent fenestration, sidewalk landscaping and discrete air-conditioners.

With its central Upper East Side location, the building is very convenient to many restaurants and good neighborhood shopping and there is good cross-town bus service, although the nearest subway station is several blocks away.
