Carlton Towers is a 31 story, 124 apartment rental tower completed in 1969 in Lenox Hill. Built by Carlyle Construction Corporation, it rises from a raised plaza and has a brown brick façade animated by glass walled balconies angled toward the center.
The rental mix spans one to three bedroom apartments, with junior four plans recurring among the larger layouts. Some of these have been converted by enclosing the dining alcove as a second bedroom, while balconies and terraces extend many homes outdoors. Laundry facilities are supplemented by in-unit washer dryers.
The building has a full time doorman, concierge, fitness center, live-in superintendent, garage and on-site parking. A courtyard and outdoor entertainment space complement the private balconies, and pets are permitted. Its Third Avenue setting is surrounded by other post-war towers and is close to the shops and restaurants of Lenox Hill and East Midtown.
