Gregory Towers, 460 East 79th Street: Review and Ratings

at The Northwest corner of York Avenue View Full Building Profile

Carter Horsley
Review of 460 East 79th Street by Carter Horsley

Erected in 1960, this attractive, 20-story, red-brick tower has 122 apartments of which 82 are two-bedroom units. It was converted to a condominium in 1987.

The building has a doorman and some corner and bay windows and terraces, but no garage and no health club.

There is good cross-town bus service and the York Avenue bus line crosses town at 57th Street. Although the building is far from the subways, it is one long block from a downtown entrance to the FDR Drive. It is also close to several schools and not too far away from Carl Schurz Park to the north.
