Carter Horsley's Building Review Carter Horsley
Dec 23, 2011
56 CITYREALTY RATING
  • #34 in Lenox Hill

Carter's Review

This very handsome, red-brick, 16-story building was erected in 1928 and was converted to a cooperative in 1953. It has 39 apartments.

The building, which has a two-story, rusticated limestone base with an arched entrance with a canopy and rusticated window surrounds on the third floor and near the top. The building has a doorman, sidewalk landscaping, and attractive windows.

It is convenient to some cultural institutions and many world-famous boutiques along Madison Avenue as well as many restaurants and neighborhood shopping along Lexington and Third Avenues. Although the nearest subway station is several blocks

away, there is good bus service on this major cross-town street.
