The five-story, mid-block building at 5-27 51st Avenue in Long Island City, Queens, is one of the handsomest low-rise residential buildings in the city.

It was designed by Fogarty Finger, of which Chris Fogarty is a founding partner, with Robert Finger serving as the director of interiors. Both architects formerly worked for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. 

It was built in 2013 by Shuster Development, whose other buildings in the neighborhood include One Murray Park, The Badge and Ten63. 

The red-brick building contains 27 condominium apartments.

Bottom Line

An extremely handsome, mid-block, low-rise residential building in Long Island City not far from the riverfront.

Description

The building features three levels of windows with projected frames in irregular patterns above the ground floor and a setback penthouse level.
