As construction draws to a close at 189 Cooper Street, sales have launched on the 13 apartments within. The site was purchased for $1.145 million in 2014, and plans were filed for a new building shortly after that. While the two-story frame house formerly on the site was nothing special from an aesthetic standpoint, it was at least fairly level with its neighbors. This six-story gray brick building towers over the other buildings on this Bushwick block and stands out awkwardly for its height and overly slick facade.
In this article:
While the fenestration looks strange and random on the outside, the interiors of the studios through one-bedrooms benefit from the abundance of natural light that floor-to-ceiling windows bring. Features also include high ceilings, hardwood floors, generous closet space, open kitchens with stainless steel Bosch appliances, and in-unit washer/dryers. Select units have private balconies. Building amenities include parking, bike room, and roof deck.
Listings start at $440K for studios and $480K for one-bedrooms. They come to an average of $804 per square foot, just below the Bushwick average of $894 per square foot.
