The People's Choice 2018: Vote for Your Favorite Brooklyn Building

Set up by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), which was founded in 1857, the Brooklyn + Queens Design Awards (BQDA) was established in 2016 to "encourage excellence in architectural design," make the public more aware of these projects, and to honor architects, owners, and builders.

Featured below are the residential nominees for the Brooklyn's People's Choice Award, which range from 45 India Street, a low-rise energy-efficient rental in Greenpoint, to Brooklyn Heights' Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park, an 108-unit condominium known for breaking price records. There's even an unbuilt nominee – John Catsimatidis' Coney Island project dubbed "Ocean Dreams," which made headlines last year when it was announced it would have its own streetcar.

All winning entries will be promoted through a published journal by AIA Brooklyn and awarded during their Design Gala, taking place in June.

Polls close soon (April 30th) so vote for your favorite project here.
